Ben Folds Five–the 90s alternative band which invented a music genre I like to call "Khaki Rock"—is coming back in September with its first album in 13 years. The newly released album art is above—as for its meaning, your guess is as good as mine.
The group announced the release of the album back in May and used Pledge Music, a crowdsourcing tool, to raise money to record it. The news was surprising to many fans of the group (of which I'm, admittedly, a diehard member), considering the reunion concert the group played in 2008 was billed as a one-time only deal. But who cares! The Five is back.
The album comes out September 18, the tour kicks off in Holyoke, Mass. on September 13. Below is the first track the band has released, "Do It Anyway."
